In a special TEDMED talk, Mayor Mick Cornett talks about the wonder that is Oklahoma City. His speech was in Washington D.C. in April of 2013. He discusses how Oklahoma City came into national view, but not in a positive manner. Oklahoma City was known as one of the most obese cities in the Nation, but Cornett in 2007 wanted to change that. He recalls his initiative for the city to lose “1,000,000 pounds.” There are several changes to the city that have been implemented to be designed around people and not cars. There are healthy alternatives everywhere in this great city.
