When Kirk Humphreys was Mayor of Oklahoma City, he had a vision for children in school to have a full life of learning in the downtown area. The schools in Oklahoma City were lagging behind due to lack of public funding, but Humphreys helped change a law that implemented a tax in 2001 to start funding for these education systems. The initiative was called Maps for Kids, and with the last institution to be complete in 2014, Humphreys’ vision is nearly there.
